Questions for further thought or discussion:
- If the ultimate goal of discipleship is to be sent, what does that mean for Christians today? What is our mission?
- It’s easy in our culture to get bogged down with the weight of material needs. What does it look like to “travel light” as a Christian? What are the only things we truly need to fulfill His mission?
- Have you been empowered to serve and proclaim Jesus in your world? What have you been given that can be used for the mission of Jesus?
- Read 2 Corinthians 5:16-20 . Do you think you share the same mission as the apostles? What are some ways we can accomplish this mission today?
Will you embrace your role as an apostle, a sent one? Will you commit to His mission the power He has given you?

7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had been raised from the dead, 8 by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the prophets of old had risen. 9 Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And he sought to see him.
