Ladies' Bible Study

Philippians

Ladies of all ages, come and join us for a Joyful Journey, every Friday morning 9:45 - 11:00 AM.  Nursery will be provided.  We have been graciously offered rooms to use at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona.

What are your joy stealers?  Worry, money, mother-in-law, illness, weight, envy?  Joy based on feelings or situations will be fleeting.  True joy comes from the Lord and will be lasting and real.

True joy in our hearts will be reflected in our lives.  A smile on a face radiates countenance and makes you look much younger than you are.

See you there!

The Power in Prayer

"Praying without working is a bow without string. . . . If the man desired that which he pretends to pray for, he would be eager to labor for it."

Charles H. Spurgeon

"Some brethren pray by the yard; but true prayer is measured by weight, and not by length."Prayer

"Prayer is the place where burdens change shoulders."

Community Ministries

As we strive to be a blessing to our church and community, please consider how your giftings and resources can be used.  If you are interested in helping with any of the following ministries, please contact Barron or make a note on your blue card included in the Sunday morning bulletin.

  • Set up / tear down
  • Visiting new attenders
  • Praise and worship / sound
  • Prayer
  • Discipleship / mentoring

Walking in humility and grace, each of us must be equipped to serve as we increasingly discover the spiritual gifts, talents, and opportunities that God has for us.

"Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not whether they be clergymen or laymen, they alone will shake the gates of Hell and set up the kingdom of Heaven upon Earth."

John Wesley
